3D Printer Filament Spool Holder STL Files

If you are looking for a new spool holder for your filament, you can easily print one yourself. This article is going to share STL files of a filament spool holder designed by Anycubic for makers to DIY. Purchasing a filament holder from Amazon can cost nearly $12, so why not save the money and print one yourself? Let's continue to see how to make this holder.

How Can I Print Anycubic Filament Spool Holder?

Tools you need:

  • FDM printer
  • PLA filament

This is a fully 3D-printed spool stand designed to hold Anycubic 1kg filaments. More importantly, it is easy to assemble, and you only need an FDM printer and PLA material, and no other tools such as bearings or glue to secure it. Let's continue to see how to make this holder.

Step 1: Slice the STL file.

Slice STL Files

Before printing, it is necessary to use a slicer to convert the STL file into a Gcode file. Therefore, it is important to fine-tune the print settings in the slicer. Anycubic provides recommended print parameter profiles for their printers, specifically for use with Cura. By simply importing these settings, you can easily slice the 3D model.

Step 2: Turn on your printer and start printing.

Print a Filament Holder

We used Anycubic Kobra 2 to produce this 3D print, as it features automatic bed leveling and high-speed printing, with a maximum print speed of 250mm/s. And it took us 4 hours and 10 minutes to complete this filament spool holder, with dimensions of around 127x130x143mm. Thanks to the large print area of the Kobra 2 (250x220x220mm), we were able to print both STL files of the base and top of the holder in a single print job.

Step 3: Assemble the holder and the filament.

Print a Filament Stand

After printing, removed the spring steel magnetic sheet from the Kobra 2, and then gently bent it with both hands. The bottom of this large holder would easily pop out, making it very easy to remove the print. We used rainbow silk PLA filament to print two holders, which have graduated colors and a silky, shiny texture.

The structure of this holder allows for easy assembly. Simply thread the top roller through the center of the spool and join it into the stand, and you're done.
